Two things I love...

Scout and Kc! In addition to those two...

Two things I love about this wedding is the attention to detail and the photographers ability to capture it!

I absolutely love this shot. I love the warmth, the vintage feel and how romantic it is!

I love that they mixed up their chairs. Sure it's ease to get 100 white chairs but instead the got a few different styles that mixed things up and kept it interesting.
Everything does not have to match.

The color palette is evident without being overbearing. I love the pink accents AND I love that the photographer took the time to capture each detail. You worked hard on each individual thing so remember them! There aren't any tack effects applied-
just some interesting cropping will do the trick.

I love pie...what more can I say.

I'm currently in the middle of finding a photographer, and we have a few options I just want to make sure that we hire someone who really gets what I want. And I think the fact that I'm a little bit of a photographer myself makes it harder because I know exactly what I want but I obviously can't take them myself! But photography is so important because it is what you will remember this one perfect day by for the rest of your life. So don't be afraid to be specific and get examples of what you like just like you would if you were getting your haircut. Your hair grows...these pictures will last a lifetime. So don't skimp!

The count down begins!

Hello readers! So I really wanted to write a blog yesterday on the 1 year mark till the big day but tuesdays and thursdays are just not good for me so today it is! We have so much work to do but i didn't want to jump the gun before I really knew what I wanted. So it is time to really start working on all of the paper stuff (save the dates, seating cards, invitations, etc...). I found a little bit of inspiration to share, of course!

So I kinda did a bad thing and didn't pay attention to where I was pulling these from. The first is from GWS. The others I found just in a google search. My bad...

I have a lot of research to still do on that one, being that my major is Graphic design I feel this extra pressure that they have to be AWESOME or everyone will feel let down. So I'll do my best in coming up with an idea...or I'll put the pressure on one of my lovely graphic design friends. :)

I found a new awesome blog today while looking for these save the dates! It is called Grey Likes Weddings, and there are some really awesome ideas on this blog! It's a little less funky than some of my other favorites but this one has some potential to reach into my top favs for sure. So check that out and let me know if you come across and cool ideas that you love!

And to finish today's post off I have a few images ( also from GWS) that have been sitting on my desktop that I have been dying to share with you and archive into my folder of great ideas!

How cute is that cake with the little heart?! I loooove the simplicity. And that sign- I WILL make that. No need for programs! And we'll do one of those for the menu as well. It's a great way to save on cost and it's a lot better for the environment to make one than print 100. PLUS you are left over with a cool piece of art (if you make it cool) to hang as a way to remember your day. Loves it.

Happy Friday,

Mary

Study Break Inspiration

I have been researching and reading books on George Balanchine (for a design project) for about 3 hours now and decided it was time to take a little break. The lack of creativity reading entails drives me a little crazy and eventually leads to ADD. This is the perfect time to set it down, and relax my brain by pulling up my handy dandy Green Wedding Shoes, my most favorite wedding blog. They always feature pictures of the most beautiful and creative weddings that inspire me in so many ways.

Probably my most favorite image I have come across yet:

Ok, It's obviously several images but they make such a beautiful grouping and completely capture the feel that I'm going for and admire. Thanks Mom, I now LOVE old things. :)
You should see my apartment...

How adorable is this? This would be so easy (and cheap) to recreate in your own way!

And there's my little tag things that I want to make for seating cards. Love love love it.

The brides dress is so gorgeous and yet simple which I just love. And the plaid shirts
with the navy blue dresses is brilliant. They look so casual and comfortable, and yet very well put together. That is exactly what I hope to achieve. I want our bridal party to feel comfortable but not look disjointed. Thank you
GWS for inspiring me to do something different. Afterall, who wants to have a traditional standard wedding, right?!
Your wedding should represent you...and your soon-to-be Husband. Just kidding, Kc!
Really though, it's your celebration so make it yours.

 Happy Inspiration Hunting!

A little inspiration!

My dear friend Lindsay sent me a pic of this darling cake that I absolutely love...

Another great wedding feature on Green Wedding Shoes, of course! I also LOVE how they chose to display their pies! I am determined we will have local made pies. :)

So I decided to check out the full post because I could just tell by that cake it was bound to be an amazing wedding. I was right. Here are more images that I found to be inspirational:

First, can I just say that I love the bridesmaids dresses?! They are vintage dresses chosen by each of the girls to match the color palette! I love the idea, it doesn't look matchy matchy, and that way each person can pick a dress that flatters her own body type or skin tone.

Second, that bouquet is just beautiful. Enough said.

Third, I WANT that truck. That is what I want to ride around in on my wedding day! How cute!?
Fourth...I need to start designing all the paper stuff probably...

What a beautiful wedding...

Happy Planning!
